Hi, I'm Hannah!

My love for capturing moments began early on, as the kid always carrying around a point-and-shoot camera, offering to edit everyone's photos, orchestrating mini photo shoots with my friends, and making iMovies that I considered mini masterpieces. However, it wasn't until I was gifted my first film camera that I understood this was more than a hobby. In a world flooded with instant gratification and an ever-growing infiltration of AI in the art space, film photography was the breath of fresh air I didn't know I needed. The light flares, intentionality behind each shot, and the unpredictability of what you captured—I quickly fell in love with it all.

Not long after, I began exploring digital photography. I was working in the fitness industry, both as an instructor and a Chief Branding Officer, and began learning how to capture movement in low-light settings. I’m so grateful for having the creative space and freedom to play, learn, and capture what would be the start of my portfolio.
Since then, I’ve made a habit of saying yes to just about any opportunity that puts me behind the lens. Weddings, engagement sessions, special events, senior portraits, brand shoots, family sessions, and honestly, I’ve loved them all. It would be really difficult and go against every fiber in my body to box myself into one or even two specific categories. I have no fear in admitting that I’m still learning! Isn’t everybody to some extent? I can love and feel so proud of an edited photo or gallery, only to revisit it a year later and edit it completely differently. And yet, I can still appreciate the creative choices I made the first time around. That’s all part of the fun. Every day there’s new inspiration, lessons, and even distractions. The goal is to remain adaptable, but always with the same rooted intention of doing, going, being, saying, and shooting what is authentic to me.
Between being born and raised in Charleston, SC, and now living on Hilton Head Island, I’ve always drawn a lot of my inspiration from the landscapes of the Lowcountry. Boat rides through the marshes, moody drives engulfed by the mossy oak trees, the history-rich architecture, and the powerful, yet calming energy of the ocean. Not to mention, all of the wildlife we encounter along the way.
Aside from environmental inspirations, my work is influenced by the bittersweet beauty of relationships and human connection. I pay attention to the in-between moments, the pauses, the quiet expressions, the emotions and subtleties of everyday life. I want a photo to feel like the real-life moment, not a done-up, elevated version of it.
Photos have the power to tell stories and to spark a (sometimes gut-wrenching) nostalgia that pulls you right back into a moment, sometimes a moment you weren’t even physically there for. In fact, the torn-edged photos of ancestors long before my time are some of the most impactful and inspiring to me because, although they captured ordinary passing moments, they are a window into a life I never knew. My most cherished moments are rummaging through shoeboxes and albums of family photos, or squished onto the couch surrounded by all my sisters, parents, and grandparents, watching my parents’ wedding tape or home videos of Christmas mornings, birthday parties, and just everyday moments that I’m so grateful my parents took the time to capture. That's exactly what I hope my photos become to you and your family: a timeless heirloom, a moment frozen in time, and a piece of your story to share with future generations by way of shoeboxes and albums scattered across the floor.
"It is my goal to have no final form. To never be defined. Never stop exploring, learning. To experience life as long as I'm alive."
